On December 11, 1964, Sam Cooke dies after being shot three times in the chest in Los Angeles.
Cooke was shot by Bertha Franklin, a manager at the Hacienda Motel. Franklin claimed Cooke threatened her life after attempting to rape a woman who had checked into the motel just a few hours before. To this day, people are still suspicious of what really happened at the Hacienda Motel…
